Dendritic cell derived extracellular vesicles for immune therapy of cancer- Susanne Gabrielsson

Prof. Susanne Gabrielsson is the Professor of the Department of Medicine at Karolinska Institutet. After completing her PhD at Stockholm University and a postdoctoral fellowship at the Curie Institute in Paris, she established a research group focused on extracellular vesicles (EVs) and exosomes. She has been a pioneer in studying the immune effects of exosomes.

Prof. Gabrielsson was the first to identify exosomes in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid and breast milk. Her research has shown that EVs play a crucial role in lung diseases such as asthma and sarcoidosis, where they contribute to inflammation. Additionally, her animal model studies provide valuable insights into how EV-based therapies can be optimized for immunotherapy in cancer.
